COVID Continues

The year 2021 continued where 2020 left off, being very cautious about the spread of the COVID coronavirus. The rate of illnesses, hospitalization and deaths due to the virus continued to rise. A couple pharmaceutical companies developed a vaccine and the first vaccinations went to careproviders and first responders. Because of our involvement in the free clinic, our volunteers were included in those first vaccinations at the local hospital. A month later we received our boosters at the university which was able to provide the accomodations such as WiFi for the multitude of nurses and doctors providing the vaccinations.

Deona Graduates and Becky Moves

The pandemic and all the limitations it imposed on society and each of us individually created a number of changes. We attended Deona high school graduation via Zoom which is not nearly as good as being there. he chose to not attend college or participate in any other post-secondary education until she had time to consider what she wanted to do as a career.
At the beginning of the pandemmic, Milan was required to isolate for several weeks in a hotel before continuing on to his job on the North Slope. It gave him to think realizing the Payton and Deona had graduated from high school and Becky was free to live beyond Mondan, and that it would be so much easier for him to live in Alaska instead of the cost and time to commute between Alaska and North Dakota every two weeks, and they both love Alaska. They bought some land to build on near Wasilla. In June they put the Mondan house on the market which sold within a day, and in July moved to Alaska. Their house wasn't complete until fall so they live with family for several months. They love their house.

Cameron Clan Reunion

As the year morfed into spring and summer Gail felt that the spring pollen was affecting her breathing. During her visit to her careprovider identifed that she was in A-fib. Shorter after a trip to ER, but after the hot air balloon ride on Riley's birthday, she had a cardioversion which corrected the A-fib but only for several days. The doctor okayed a trip to the Cameron reunion in late June which we took because Gail's sister Marilyn died the week before and the funeral and internment would be that weekend. The attendance was extensive although our family did not participate. Enroute back to Oregon, the outdoor temperatures climbed into the hundred's and Gail's heart kept her very exhausted.
